Did you checked the Event Log for specific error(s)? There must be some permissions/access issue in my oipn thinkign what you want to achive so please check under Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Application and look for Warning/Error messages associated with any of the following: SQLAgent, SQLISPackage.
Could be something as simple as "Access is denied" or "Could not read metadata, possibly due to insufficient access rights." but will definitely be there and tell more than just "Event ID: 12291"
Hi Ash,

Look at the log files in the following location:
%Program-Files%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG

Execute the same with the SA user.

If you don't have a SA user check that the user has  the server role sysadmin

let me know if you need more info

Thanks for the reply. I have managed to fix it .. it was a permission issue on the target server that was causing the problem.

Regards
Ash
