1) Try mounting the SD card in another machine. This will tell you if the SD card is good.<br />

3) You can also insert another random SD card into your Ubuntu machine + see if an unformatted SD card can mount + be formatted. This will also tell you if the SD card reader port is good.<br />

Tip: Provide all commands you used to mount your SD card + access your data, including all messages emitted during your process... so... cut + paste all text out of your terminal window into a comment.
