Hello Experts. Any experience or recommendations regarding Microsoft ATP in O365 vs a traditional Endpoint Solution such as Sophos or ESET? We are an educational institution so have an A1 licence. Getting an A3 or A5 would allow ATP along with many other features I would like to have.

Generally speaking, ATP is a good feature to have, but the cost can be prohibitive. Both Safe links and Safe attachments are valuable, and so are the anti-phish features, but like any other product on the market, ATP is not a magic bullet that will get you rid of all the spam/phish messages. So I guess the question here is how much spam/phish do you get now and can you justify the cost of higher SKU?
That's assuming you're not after any of the other features that come with A5 of course, but given the price you get those you might as well just purchase it :)

Besides the email filtering and anti-phish features, is Endpoint protection (windows defender) mature enough to protect against Cryptoware and advanced threats? I Recommend defender for home use but tracking corporate is a bit more involved.
