Sorry, forgot to address that question. Unfortunately, the answer is no. Gmail provides no direct support for their free email service, only for paid G-Suite subscribers. Have been down that road many times myself so am quite sure of my facts.

This might be the clue.<br />
<br />
If Gmail tightened security + you're running an old email client, there may be a security mismatch.<br />
<br />
This is fairly common.<br />
<br />
Try connecting using Thunderbird 3 + if you can, then you'll likely have to update Outlook to fix the problem.

I have a client that uses one gmail address to contact clients. It is on many computers and they use Outlook IMAP to access gmail. As of today it stopped connecting. On my computer I get a message that less secure apps is disabled but it is enabled. I toggled that setting but still not working<br />
