HP 2530-24G-PoE+ (J9773A) Port 11 Keeps going offline and online

We have an HP 2530-24G-PoE+ (J9773A) where our port 11 keeps going on-line and then off-line. The device that we have connected to it is a wireless AP that uses POE. When I go into the logs of the switch all it says is that Port 11 is now on-line and then the next line is that it has gone offline. With no other information. What can I do to find out what's wrong with that port? I'm still very new to programming on a switch.

Can you connect the ap to a different port to sort out the issue is the ap or the switch port. Also connect a different poe capable device to port 11

Sure thing! I will do this tomorrow and update you to let you know what happens. Currently the port is up and the AP is working right now and it's been staying that way. But this just happened randomly without me doing any work to it.
Hello,
might also be cable issue.
Also look at power consumpion on the switch if it can "pull" the right amount of power the AP needs over port 11.
Hi Thomas, I don't believe it's a cable issue because this has been up and running for quite a few months now and then one day this issue appeared. Of course that doesn't mean it's 100% ruled out but I'm willing to bet it isn't. I would like to ask how would I look at the Power consumption on the switch? I'm unfortunately really new to Networking so maybe a push in the right direction would be extremely helpful! I'll google Power consumption and see if I can find anything related to that switch about that.
logon to the console and type "show power-over-ethernet" and "show power-over-ethernet brief" to show how much power is user per port.
So what I've learned is that all ports are set to Low PoE priority so I followed the command:

interface <port-list> power-over-ethernet [ critical | high | low ]

I set Port 11 to Critical.

I've also learned that all ports power classes are set to default of 0. Which means they use a maximum 15.4 Watts. So I'm leaving it as default because the AP needs a maximum of 11 watts.

So far the AP and the port on the switch have been up for 19 hours. If it goes down again I will try your suggestion Benjamin that I will unplug it and try a different port and plug in another PoE device in it's place. Thank you everyone for your help and advice!
keep us updated when something happends.
