The first obvious question is..    is the machine fully up to date on Windows Updates?

This sounds like a problem that was rampant on earlier versions of Windows 10 before they started releasing patches for it.
I personally had this issue right out of the gate on an early release of Win10.     My taskbar and start menu were crashing.  Updates fixed the problem for me.
In addition to the above (yes, I keep my Windows 10 up to date), also update BIOS, then Chipset, then all other drivers. Restart and run Widows updates again.

If the system still crashes, you may need to do a Windows 10 Repair Install from the Media Creation Link and keep everything.

How to here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Windows 10 is running, so click on the Download button (not Upgrade Button, select Save.
Create a USB Windows Installation key and then run Setup on the USB Key.
This will launch the Repair and proceed normally.

Check the SMART status of your hard drive.  Programs like crystal disk info can show you if reallocated sectors, pending sectors are above 0.  The drive may be the cause of your problems.

Next you could try simple fixes like DISM.  Here is a tutorial: https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/33424/Repair-Windows-10-issues-safely-using-the-Built-In-DISM-Command.html
Run a memory test using memtest or use the inbuilt diagnostic tool in Windows 10
I have seen this when memory is loose or the SIMS (or whatever you have) need to be cleaned. I remove them and clean their connectors with a pencil eraser to make them nice and shiny.  And then make sure they reseat fully and firmly.

If ti still crashes, a bad power supply can also be the cause. Typically a hang that is not a Blue Screen is a glitch in the processor or memory that sends the CPU off into the weeds, and seldom will that cause a BSOD.

What exactly are you doing when it hangs. Anything you can think of that you are doing it were doing?

Also, you might try to boot in Safe mode and see if you still crash, as it could be a piece of bad software glitching something too.
it can have many causes - like overheating.
is there any BSOD?  check for dmp files in windows \system
check also event viewer for problems at that time it freezes
anything unusual in device mananger ?
