Migrating users and files from Windows 7 to 10

I have a Windows 7 machine with a number of users (and their files) that need to move to a Windows 10 machine.  These are standalone boxes, so they're not in any kind of a domain.

Do you have anything that you like to use for this kind of thing?

Note that I'm not really trying to move applications, but that might be nice if we can do that as well.

Azra- Migwiz from windows 7 copied to a Windows 10 machine will work.

Go to the below link and go down to the last contributor's (Shane1973) steps:

If you would like everything moved over including applications you may have to go with a paid 3rd party software:

You might want to look at Fabs AutoBackup Pro.    Designed for techs who need to backup/restore/move users and files, might do what you need except for the application moving.  coupon code:  7GFJW3

@John,

For clarification, this is a discrete Win 7 box and a brand new out of the box Win 10 box.  The Win 10 box will have fresh apps installed, I'm onlyl looking to migrate profiles and user documents.

I probably ought not use the word "box" so much in a single sentence lest the spam bots start to think I'm talking dirty talk.

For the rest of you, thank you for your input, I'll take a look at these and let you know what I ended up doing.
Best in my view to set up a new user profile on the Windows 10 machine to avoid issues.

Then copy the documents from the Windows 7 to a USB hard drive and restore to the Windows 10 machine.

You can network the machines but that is a little more complicated.
@John,

That's what I normally do, I was hoping to tinker some with the automated tools.  But I just might stick with tried and true!
We do this at clients and have not seen automatic tools that work really well so we stick to traditional methods and get better results
I went with tried and true on this one, but the applications presented here look interesting and might actually come in handy for a couple of upcoming projects.  I'm especially interested in LapLink's USB to USB transfer method, it may be a lifesaver on a project where I'm moving several TB of video data from one old workstation to a new one.
Thanks for the update
if i need to move data, i Always connect the drives to the same PC, on Sata cables,
that's the fastest, and most secure way imo
