Need download link for the free Hyper-V-Core Server 2019

Is there anyone able to provide a download link for the (free) hyper-v core server 2019?
Microsoft has wrong links below https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-hyper-v-server-2019 - those point to hyper-v-server 2012 R2! *
https://software-download.microsoft.com/download/pr/17763.1.180914-1434.rs5_release_SERVERHYPERCORE_OEM_X64FRE_EN-US.ISO is mentioned elsewhere on the net, however the setup is defective (no, not my download, the setup itself is faulty).

* LOL! In this very minute, the links were corrected, however, still, they only lead to https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/windowsserver/2018/11/13/update-on-windows-server-2019-availability/ which leads back to 2012 R2

Well there is definetely an issue here...i searched a bit and it seems that the link for the 2019 Hyper-V server is here but i cannot confirm because my Internet connection is lousy at the moment.
It seems that somehow the 1809 update has caused quite some issues and affected everything ...according to some forum mentions.

Hi John.

Yes, that has been known for months. However, MS claim they resolved all issues and restarted the deployment process - where is HV setup? You only quote the link I have - setup is broken to the bone, no upgrades are possible with it, not even clean upgrades (dataonly).

Its the .iso for Hyper-V 2019...with "setup" do you mean that you have prepared the iso and when you go to install it on your machine it fails ?

M$ pulled the download at the end of 2018 in a fairly paranoid reaction to the Win 10 1809 data loss concerns and it's still not back.  There were some significant RDC glitches that became apparent too.

So currently no official downloads.

There are some third party backup links to the .iso but you might want to risk assess using them.

Well, I know, it just does not work for upgrades.
It is not the scope of this question to start a discussion whether or not to upgrade a (hyper-v) server in place.

@MASQ: you link a thread that only holds "my" link, nothing new.

Pretty sure there's nothing else available ATM other than .iso images captured while the download page was live.

"We are also working to make the Windows Server 2019 evaluation available on the Microsoft Eval Center. We will provide an update to this blog and our social channels once it’s available."

It sounds like they've uploaded the new image to VLSC - but I don't have a license to test that theory(!)

Ok, so my question will only be able to confirm what I know already.
By the way: clean setups work, just not any kind of upgrade setups (not even setup.exe /auto dataonly)

Why are you giving me my "own" link?

oops after going through the merry-go-round this was the only link that actually started a download.  It isn' even on MSDN, Action Pack areas

Since we want this done by the end of the month, I think I will end up doing a clean installation and VM import. Oh well.
So I'll close this if nothing else comes in by tomorrow.

The Evaluation version has only just begun to be distributed widely. I suspect that it was because of the boot loop when Hyper-V was enabled on uEFI enabled servers that it got held back.

I suspect the same for Hyper-V Server (Core only freebie version) but along the line something else may have been discovered since it does not seem to be available for download via the standard location yet.

Installed 17763.1.180914-1434.rs5_release_SERVERHYPERCORE_OEM_X64FRE_EN-US.ISO for a test.
What strikes me immediately, is that I cannot remote desktop to the host. The service is configured and runs, but netstat -ano shows, there is nothing listening on 3389. So be warned.

Let's hope we will see Hyper-V-Server 2019 any time soon. Right now, it's utterly broken:
-no upgrade setup possible
-RDP not working

Closing. Thanks for participating.

The firewall exceptions in place?

EDIT: The freebie is limited in its scope and abilities. This has always been the case.

Here's our default Group Policy setup that includes firewall exceptions we deploy for all cluster nodes.

"The firewall exceptions in place?" - of course.

"The freebie is limited in its scope and abilities. This has always been the case." - Never noticed that. What are you missing?
[not to mention that RDP was of course working in any version}
Philip ElderTechnical Architect - HA/Compute/Storage

Commented:
RDP should be okay. Firewall Logging and Remote Management would eliminate the possibility that it is the culprit.

I'm not sure about in-place upgrade though?

For anybody interested: the RDP bug in hyper-v server 2019 is fixed by https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4482887
I installed it and for a week now, all works good and guest servers with SQL seem faster than on 2016.

I just did a trial run of HV Server 2019 nested and the install option does have in-place. So, there's that. :)

What are you trying to explain to me? Yes, it has that option, but it does not work and fails as described.

In case anybody cares: Microsoft corrected the ISO and provided a download link on 17th of June: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-hyper-v-server-2019
What took so long, we'll probably never know.

After so long probably a lot of people have jumped to ESXI.... :)
