I need a program that can look at MP3 files, identify them and rename them by Artist and Title. Please don't just google and send me a list. I am looking for something someone has used and can confirm that it actually works and works well. Thanks.

I personally use Tag&Rename, gets the job done well, and well worth the modest cost.

Flash Renamer is by far the best mass/batch file/folder renaming program available ($20).
https://www.rlvision.com/flashren/about.php

It can do quite complex batch renaming, without using the advanced features
(such as Regular Expressions & Scripting).

Best of all - As you adjust settings on the left,
On the right .... It has a live preview of what the files will be renamed to.

AND it has a batch undo feature if needed.

In the demo below you can see I have selected the <Artist> <Title> Preset
(I added XXX to track 08 for this demo)
On the right you can see a preview what the file will be renamed to.

The part missing on all these seems to be the "identify". I have no idea who the artist is or the title of the song (OK I do on some but want to verify it). So I need something that will identify the artist as well as the song title i.e. search for it. Then after it has accurately identified the artist and title then tag and rename it based on what it found.

The tool I have used when I have a large number of MP3 files with no or missing metatdata is MusicBrainz Picard.  I have had mixed results, and there is a bit of a learning curve on it's usage, but it can be helpful.

If you only have a few of these though, I often just use Shazam - Music Discovery, Charts & Song Lyrics on my mobile phone and let it "hear" a bit of the song.  It's pretty good at guessing the origin, but doesn't do any tagging automatically, you would have to use it to find the info, then armed with that update the metadata yourself in Tag&Rename, or similar.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the input guys. The clear winner was MusicBrainz Pickard. It accurately identified and renamed in a snap.
