How to recover from an external drive if I deleted the backup job that created it

I have few jobs in veritas backup exec 16, some didnt work for a year... I want to recover some files from external drive ...
Is there a way to browse the specific drive even if the job dosent exist anymore?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes you can recover from a backup even if the job does not exist anymore. You need to run a catalog job.
In the job, uncheck the option to USE STORAGE MEDIA Based Catalog.
This will read the each file in the backup to re-create a CATALOG.
