Alexa is not finding a playlist for the Amazon echo speaker

Alexa does not find the classical music playlist on my PC...I am using Spotify.  When I ask it to play a
specific Ron's classical music hits it resorts to saying it could not find it and resorts to playing some
classical music songs on Spotify.  My nephew allowed me to sign up to Spotify on his family membership
to Spotify.  Keep in mind it is not my paid account...the account is paid for by my nephew and he can add
5 friends to the service under his umbrella account.  Do you think that is the problem?  What should I be
doing in order to resolve this problem?
thanks,

I would suggest using the Alexa App and seeing if you can play from the Spotify account there first.
As MASQ and Jeff Perkins mention, check to see if you can launch it through the Alexa App so its a not a syntax problem with Alexa.

Also, double check you are logged into the same Spotify account on your Echo that you are on using on your PC, you may have gotten signed in on a different account.

Cheers!

The spotify app is on the iPad and the music can be accessed on the PC by logging into spotify and playing the playlist by way of the speakers attached to the PC.  Should this make a difference?  Does the iPad have to be turned on and in the same room?
thanks,

The Spotify app on your iPad is just another way to access your Spotify account.

You can connect to your Spotify account through your PC (which is how you are playing it through the speakers on your PC), your iPad, or your Echo. Each of those devices is connecting to your Spotify account independently of each other, so you should not need your iPad.

Think of it like your bank account. You have one bank account (Spotify) that you can access in different ways. You can log into their website (Spotify on your PC), you can talk to a teller (Spotify on your iPad), or you can use the ATM (Spotify through your Alexa device). Its the same account, just different ways to access it, but you need to have the same account information/debit card in all those situations to make sure you are accessing the same bank account. Its a messy analogy, and I'll try to think of a better one.

Did you check to make sure you linked the correct Spotify account to your Alexa app? Here's the instructions to link accounts from Spotify and Amazon.

Hope this helps!
