A lite version of Windows 10 for virtualization
Is there a stripped down windows 10 solution ideal for virtualization? Either a premade image or legit and safe software to make a lite ISO using an original media? I see lots of stuff on the internet but much of it looks suspect. I also see one by microsoft, but it's actually preloaded for development and kind of the opposite of that I am looking for.

… make your own Windows build is the MSMG toolkit.
Agree. That was part of the link above to remove stuff you do not need.

Yes, but rather than a blind link, I was hoping to provide the OP with the names of the tools they need and build from there and come back and answer questions as they need.
A dedicated hypervisor, based on 10/server 2016/2019 is hyper-v core server. It's a free product, but would need to be a little harder to setup.

As a guest, you can look at Windows 10 LTSB, Windows 10 IoT or Windows Server Nano/Core with or without containers.

Thanks, looks like I will have to make the lite version, but this reddit will help.
@ Brian, nice idea on the "lean version" lets see if MS makes it happen

The "lite version" that you will achieve using the procedure described at reddit is not optimized for virtualization. I doubt, that it will perform any better with VMs. It will have more storage, that's about all.
You should look at hyper-v core, that's free and it's optimized for VMs.

The other option is to use Windows server core.
