play video problem

Folks at work handed me a DVD that’s scratched to try to get a small video file from.

I used unstoppable copier to supposedly get the file off from the DVD, but am not able to get the AVI file to play; well, it plays but see no video.

There’s a program on the DVD called VerintVideoSolutionsCodecs, and I am not able to play the file with VLC.

I’m not sure if there’s a way to tell if the video file is just corrupt considering it came from a somewhat scratched DVD, or is there some codec that I need to have to play the file.
I’ve attached the file>

If the DVD has been scratched and damaged at spot where the video resides, then the likelihood of recovering the video is exceedingly small. Can you get a backup of the video or purchase a replacement?

The codecs exe file does not work from the DVD.

Does anyone have or know where to download the Verint codecs without having to give information?

There are other sites you can supposedly get the codec from, but there does not seem to be a clean link to the Verint codec. To download it you are asked to hit the start now button, and I assume that’s something you do not want.
Verint codecs are for security videos - the type used for police interviews
can you open VerintVideoSolutionsCodecs with 7zip and look at the contents?

See also this previous question - unfortunately all the relevant links in it are long dead

When I tried to unzip the file I got an error message about the contents.

However, Verint did send me links to download the codec, and afterwards the video played!

I'm surprised the video did play. Not so much getting the codec, but all the time it took unstoppable copier to get the data from the DVD.

One lady at work gave me a hug!
Are you able to share the download?
These are the links I got through the email that allowed me to download the codec. Not sure if the links will only work by receiving the email.

I’ve kept the old link live for all the people who might be using it currently.
