Hello!
I have a user who uses a Macbook Air that is on MacOS Mojave 10.14.3. He has an issue where he connects to the network drives on our file server and after some time encounters this exact issue:

http://www.thursby.com/why-does-it-say-connection-failed-when-i-click-server-sidebar

I wanted to ask if anyone has any new information on it since his OS version is definitely a few steps up from what are described as the problematic versions? Or if anyone has found a cause for it that can be mitigated? The only third party softwares he has are Office 2016 for Mac, Webex client with Outlook add-in, and SEP 14. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Sorry Pegasys, it's not relevant anymore actually because the user switched to a Windows machine and is happier. The servers in question though are Windows 2016 servers.

What file servers are you running?

WIndows..l Find out which smb (samba) version is running v1, v2, v3. Could be set up in one of all three depending on the admin requirements.

Do they disconnect randomly or after some inactivity e.g. you not accessing them for a while?

Well all I can really remember at this point is It would connect fine after a reboot and after some time of usage the connection would stop working to the file server. The file server is just a Windows 2016 Standard server with file shares for network drives.
