Save attachments from Outlook 365 into an external folder
How can I save all Outlook 2016 attachments from a specific folder for emails which was manually created into a folder on your desktop?
You can do it either via a custom VBA-based rule (see for example https://www.slipstick.com/developer/save-attachments-to-the-hard-drive/) or using third-party tools/add-ins (list of such addins here: https://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto-process/attachment-management-tools-for-outlook/).
One of the easiest ways that I use from time to time (the free version is usually all I need):
Save Attachments - Outlook Freeware

The write a trivial PERL script to split messages (raw message files) into MIME parts + convert from base64 + write attachments of interest somewhere.
Trying to do this on Windows... would require far more work...
If you're lazy, go the Ubuntu + Dovecot way.
