BGP Originate and Origin type.
BGP Originate and Origin type.
Looking at this link: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/border-gateway-protocol-bgp/13753-25.html
Can someone explain the difference between BGP attributes : Originate and Origin type.
I looks like Bullet 3 and 5 in Cisco article have some similarity
Thank you

The difference between Originate and Origin type is . Originate means, how did the route itself learn the route. As you can see, the options are through a network, redistribute, or aggregate command placed on said router. Origin type is saying how did BGP learn the route, so not necessarily from the router itself.

It sounds like this is related to the "i" in the left under Network and the "i" in the right under Path , when you enter Show IP BGP
If I am not wrong the "i" in the left is the Originate and the "i" in the right is the Origin ?
