My recorder is not working when I’m conference in GotoMeeting, Zoom, Skype, etc.  I have checked the sound configuration and there is a recording tab and the device is enabled and says working fine.  How can I troubleshoot to assure that my microphone is working fine for my next conference?

is this a built-in mic or one you have installed yourself?

Author

built in in a laptop.
it is possible that this mic is defective

if possible, try a plug-in mic tom see what happens

Thank you but no.  Did find the problem; it was the privacy settings.  When its OFF, mic will not work.  Clicked it ON and all is ok.

The solution was keyed Win+i key, open settings, select Privacy, select Microphone, clicked ON.
i hadn't thought of that

sometimes when Win10 updates, it resets privacy settings

glad to see everything is A-OK
