How can you make users submit confidential data files without being seen by others?

Hi,
How is it possible to build private file upload system ?
I want to collect private data from colleagues without being seen by anybody except sender and me.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

SFTP, SSH, PGP keys, etc. There are a lot of options to encrypt data in transit and at rest.

can consider ProjectSend which is a self-hosted application (you can install it easily on your own VPS or shared web hosting account) that lets you upload files and assign them to specific users that you create yourself. Secure, private and easy. No need to depend on external services or e-mail to send those files.

OR run your Own Free Personal Cloud. Tonido Server allows you to access all your files on your computer from a web browser, smartphone, tablet or even DLNA enabled devices. Share large files and folders with family, friends and colleagues. Setup public direct links so anyone can access the content or create a secure private share that only authorized people are allowed to access them.

I think you can't. You can encrypt file so it is not readable by middle man.

Thank you for advises. I forgot to mention in my post that my main focus in on Salesforce. So it would be better if it can be realized using SF.

Thus, my question should have been is it possible to send files to a certain authorized person in Salesforce without being seen anyone except the sender and the authorized person?

You can make the file private but the metadata is not private. The content is protected from other viewing. The other layer is to have encryption  as said.

A file is privately shared when it's:

Only shared with specific people or a private group
Posted to a private group
Shared via link
Posted to a feed on a record
Published to a shared library
