SQL SSRS subscription fails with "Failure sending mail: An error occurred during rendering of the report.Mail will not be resent."

I have 40 SSRS reports that are working and just 2 that give this error, can anyone help?

Kindly check whether the 2 reports that are failing are using a different email profile causing it to fail..

The Subscription page in Reporting Services includes a status of a subscription but if there is a problem with the subscription, the detailed information is in the Reporting Services logs.
which means you should also check the Log file as described here for possible more info than just the message you got.

It could be as simple as multiple email addresses on those subscription and (either) one of them not valid causing the subscription to the send email.

When creating the subscription, the Render Format may be incorrect for email, I don't know exact spelling, something below:
  • HTML
  • HTML 4.0
  • MHTML
Note: on that configuration, you pick the option from a list (i.e., you are not expected to type the value)

Hi Icohan

This is quite a large report (27,000 lines). If I change the view to just one invoice (3 lines) the subscription works.

So it is something to do with the data?

Thanks John, just changing to CSV sorted it!
