Upgrading Dell Poweredge T610 - Need 4 NICs

My small business is planning on upgrading our Dell T610. We currently have 4 NICs and we want the upgrade to have at least 4. The Dell PowerEdge T440 and T640 listed on dell.com only have 2 NICs from my research.

What are my options?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

there is an option for a broadcom 5719 quad port card

You could always use 4 VLANs and a Trunk.

Being a server, there are dozens of optional components, and literally millions of different possible shipping configurations.

You can order these servers with a dozen Gigabit LAN connections if you want.

If you are connect to a switch with a 10Gb SPF+ port, you could opt to just implement VLANs, and run everything over one NIC. It is unlikely that a 10Gb link would be a bottleneck for one of these servers.

Why do you need 4?

The only LOM (LAN on Motherboard) option for the T440/640 seems to be the dual-port 5720. To get to 4 ports, you will need to add (at least) the optional dual-port 5720. Because it's an add-in PCIe card, you could also look at other sources (eg Amazon or NewEgg) to find NICs; your mileage will vary on cost, and non-Dell cards will need to be independently maintained (firmware, drivers). But it IS an option.
