What size video do I need?
Hi, Please see: http://dev.magickitchen.com/mel150-v2/org-index.html - You can use user name: mel and password: mel. We’re putting the video into the slideshow space.
That is a 640x360 video. The people making a video for that space are going to send a 1920x1080 size. I am asking for a sample. Is it possible to figure out what size video would best fit into that space?

1) Awesome site!
2) Big Buck Bunny... rules...
3) Go ahead + wrap your site in HTTPS. Now's better than later...
4) Check out http://fitvidsjs.com/ as your first pass of video.
5) The reason your video has artifacts likely has to do with some sort of post upload transcoding you did.
Hint: Tell people if they upload a .mp4 with h.264 video + AAC mono audio (optionally no audio) with a certain bitrate cap... say 2k... they you'll publish their video as-is.
Hint: Then use PHP video pseudo streaming to serve videos.
Searching - php "pseudo streaming" 206 - will give you a list of projects. GitHub provides many working libraries.
6) Second pass may be to transcode many sizes of videos in background, to serve minimal weight videos based on media breakpoints at user end.
Tip: To do fast + high quality transcodes, use the ffmpeg command line tool.

Thanks! Yes, it's bootstrap. I'll have a look at all of the above. I'm just uploading a video from the company that's doing our talking head. So at least I'll be playing with the same size.
Do you already us the bootstrap class="embed-responsive-it em" ? more info here.
