How are you attempting to open the attachment? By double clicking/saving the attachment or by clicking on the link in the email? The latter is usually necessary.

What does happen when you click the link? It's possible that your key for opening secure attachments has been cached, so you may be able to open the attachment directly. If nothing happens when you click the link, you may have some security settings blocking it. Hold CTRL when you click on it to force things past any Outlook security settings. You may also want to verify that this is a valid email as well (many malicious attacks fake secure messaging emails to trick people).

Adam, if i hold down CRTL i won't be able to click on the link anymore :( &nbsp;as soon as i hold down CRTL the link become NOT clickable.

It's possible. Outlook is able to differentiate between Internal and External emails and can block access to links in messages from external addresses if it is set to. Usually you can get by this with the CTRL+click method or by right clicking, selecting copy hyperlink, then pasting that into a web browser. If you would like to post a screenshot of your security settings (Go to File &gt;&nbsp;Options &gt;&nbsp;Trust Center), we can more easily determine how to fix this if it does turn out to be the problem.

Adam i have one more piece of information. I opened that email with attachment coming from his broker using the verizon/aol web base and i was able to click on that link and opening it with no problem. this means that Outlook is blocking that specific email. <br />
<br />
because i asked to the broker to have 2 people in his office to send a secure email using 2 different email account and i was able to opening the link no problem.<br />
<br />
Question: where should i look in Outlook to fix this issue please ?<br />

any idea ?

ok he can open that link using the aol/verizon webmail. so for now he is using it. <br />

some other time i will figure out what is blocking that specific attachment coming only from that email.<br />

Adam, this is the only email causing this issue. i requested another 2 email sent from the same office but from different email account and we were able to open the secure link with no problem. the email is coming from the outside.

Hello Everyone,

when i try to open an secure  email attachment from my broker i am not allowed anymore. i used to be able in the past but not anymore. 
I am using Outlook 2016. My secretary has the same configuration and she can opening i can't!

I am attaching the two screen shot of what i see it may  

Something is blocking me from opening that attachment. should i look into the browser or into outlook settings to fix this please ?
