annoying lag in Word perfect X4
I have some clients that are having issues with Word perfect X4 and X9. one has Windows 7 and X4 the other has Windows 10 (1809) and x9
Both are experiencing extreme lag ( upward of 3 seconds ) when typing words on the system. the x9 system i can Kind of understand as this
is a new install and the previous version was installed on Win7. however the other system was always up and was not touched in any way.
thinking that the new system Keyboard was ghosting, we replaced the set with a wired set. the help greatly but didn't resolve the issue. to
add to the confusion a totally different system that is the same as the first one (Win7 and X4) is having the same problems. the only link to
any of the systems was that previously the one that now has Win10 had Win7 Home and it was a file server for a data base program that all the
systems use. this program was reinstalled and the data was imported back to the system. this program requires that clients have to reinstall to
reconfigure the hard links in the program ( this is just a guess as there was no way save Registry manipulation to get it to see the new share).
however only one has the software the other does not.
So my issue is this: 1 ) what is causing this - is this WP or is this the Db program or is shenanigans from Win10

Is Wordperfect still supported? It may be a new windows update is causing issues and if WP is still supported they might have a patch.
That version is not supported the latest version is Version 9

regrettably the user is a former paralegal and swears by WP. she has Word so she can still do word processing but doesn't want to
use it as all of her templates are in WP. the other person has to use it as the program that he uses only takes input from Corel Draw
and WP. he is not in the position to upgrade due to extreme cost at this time, and the suite that is the closest to function is a 6 figure
purchase.

Ok I have checked the site and found no updates or Patches that go to X4. I have called Corel and they do not have any other patch
that was not published. they say to try to reinstall but that didn't work on one of them, waiting to see on the other.

Sorry I thought I had updated this question. Compatibility mode does not correct the issue.
If I remove the system off the network I will not freeze as much but still there. Recapping

- Reinstalling didn't work
- spellcheck and grammar check on or off has no affect
- different OSes (7&10 pro) have the same issue and different buildings
- No updates for either system or for the program.

I still have not found a solution to this but will look at Hardware as this seems to be some issue with
how the program deals with the network. Thank you all for the time and tips.
*Update* My client updated to X9 and the issues went away. Still, that X4 and X9 will interact like this
