Testing Win 10Upgrade from Win 7

Is there a way to test if a Win 7 PC is upgradable to Win 10 without using the installation media?

This was used back a bit for upgrading to Windows 10 when they were pushing free upgrades.

99% of the hardware of the last 10years are compatible. I would not even care for a test.

I generally agree with the above. Two things:

Update BIOS and Chipset before starting. Windows should upgrade the remaining drivers.  

Also uninstall legacy and outdated software, especially anti virus.

Do that and the upgrades should  work.
