Is there a way to make a YouTube channel that does not allow subscribers.

Hi,

We have a YouTube channel which we use to upload videos of recent football matches for local team.

We would like to make it that people can't subscribe to this channel.

The reason for this is that we have a newsletter that goes out each week and the uploaded YouTube videos are part of the newsletter.

We don't want people seeing these videos until the newsletter comes out as only people who read the newsletter should have access to the videos.

1. Do subscribers of YouTube channels get notified when videos are put up, even videos categorised as "unlisted"?

2. How would we make it that our channel has no subscribers and does not allow for subscriptions?

Thanks,
Robbie

1) Yes - that's how subscription works with Channels
2) You can't, there's no facility to prevent subscription globally for a Channel
You can remove subscribers but you have to pick them off individually

Maybe the Newsletter could have a date and time that the YouTube videos will become available in your channel, you can set a publication date and time in Basic Settings.

Yes you may be able to remove subscribers but then if they want they can report your videos if you have ticked them off due to removal. Our channel was terminated because some meany in another country complained about one of my videos. The videos have two parts, the video and the audio. I used a video maker to use a still photo for the video portion and the audio portion was from a recording of mine that was over 50 years old. They claimed the video was deceiving in content. Gross stupidity on the part of the person who filed the claim and on the part of You Tube.

So removing subscribers would or could be risky.
You could consider using Vimeo for your videos and then you would have a link to send to whoever.
It leaves out the issues with Youtube.
