Cannot see third external LCD when the laptop lid is opened.
A laptop once connection was able to see two external LCD, in addition to the laptop's LCD, but it suddenly stopped, it only sees the laptop LCD and one external LCD.
What can cause this to happen?
I can update the video drivers, but I am looking for the root cause. I suspect that the system board is defective.
I did some research in the pass that indicate that video card may not be able to support three display.
The other thing I can try is to replace he docking station.
Latitude 7270, I believe is the model number.
OS: Window 10, am not sure which version but I believe it is 1803.
I will have to run a hardware diagnostic test too, but I prefer to look for the manufacture of the system board diagnostic test.

Most laptops can only see two monitors as separate devices. Was the third one in your case a mirror of one of the other two?
Try to use graphics properties instead of display settings to detect the other monitors.
an update can be the cause - either of windows, or the docking station, or drivers
you may test if a system restore to a date it was ok helps - it shows what softwares are affected
