find an instagram account name after decline in history
My wife has an instagram account (private) and she declined someone that wanted to follow. Now, she is reconsidering this person and was wondering if there is any history on the account of who she declined because she has tried to look up what she thinks is the person's instagram account name and nothing comes up.

It does not appear to be possible to look up rejected follow requests in Instagram. If there happens to be another device (an iPad or other secondary device) that has the notification that the person wants to follow her, she might be able to see it there.
I think the best bet would be for your wife to look up that person either through Facebook, LinkedIn, or some other form of social media (or by email or phone!) and to ask them to send another request.

If you know this person's real name (rather than account name), they may have their name listed on their profile, meaning you can just search that name directly into Instagram's search field. Some people do not include their name, though.
Another option is that if you are already Facebook friends with this person, or have their phone number in your contacts, you can go to Profile > Settings > Discover People OR Facebook and connect your account/contacts. Here, you will be able to see everybody in your Facebook friends/contacts who also own Instagram, and there is a possibility that person may be on there as well.

However, if you have an iPhone it can show you daily notification of social media if the notifications are turned on. This provides of the history of daily events. This is a long shot but could work.
