Sudden Trouble syncing Mac photo albums with iPhone

Hello - I am having trouble syncing my Mac photo albums with my iPhone 8. It was syncing a few weeks ago, but now appears to have stopped syncing updates to my photo albums and photo library from Mac to iPhone. The calendar still syncs, but photos do not. I have no idea why this could be. I have everything turned on (i.e. Photo Stream and iCloud Photos) on both my Mac and iPhone. Both area also completely up to date. The Mac just suddenly stopped syncing my photo album updates with my iPhone. Do you have ANY idea whatsoever why this might be? Help!

Hey Don,

Just to clarify, are you adding photos to your Mac, and expecting them to show up on your iPhone? Or is it the other way around where you are taking pictures with your iPhone and then hoping for them to show up on your Mac? (or both I guess)

Either way, since you've turned Photo Stream on for both devices, try force quitting Photos on Mac completely. I would even go to your activity monitor and search "photos" and then quit all of the "com.apple" and "Photos Agent" processes and then open the Photos app again to see if it works.

I unfortunately can't try it out since my photos seem to be syncing just fine, but see if that works out!

Sadly, quitting photos in Activity Monitor did not work. I tried logging out of iCloud on both devices, waiting a bit, and then logging in again, but this seems to have only gotten rid of more photos that were previously synced from my Mac to my iPhone. I'm really not sure what else lot do. Very frustrating.
