Most common reason is the ability to minimize the size of the RIB through summarizing at the AS boundaries. Makes for easier route tracking and table troubleshooting.

Then how do you make Routes from AS1 learned by AS2 routers.

Also will this make Query Scoping easier
for instance if EIGRP Router in AS1 looses a route will the Query traverse AS1 to AS2, in case no Reply has been received in AS1 ?
