Using different AS in EIGRP

Using different AS in EIGRP

Any Expert to explain the reason why some Network Engineers use Different EIGRP Automomous Systems even in Small to medium size Networks ?

Thanks

Most common reason is the ability to minimize the size of the RIB through summarizing at the AS boundaries.  Makes for easier route tracking and table troubleshooting.

Then how do you make Routes from AS1 learned by AS2 routers.

Also will this make Query Scoping easier

for instance  if EIGRP Router in AS1 looses a route will the Query traverse AS1 to AS2, in case no Reply has been received in AS1 ?
