You use a console connection to start and assign it an IP address first.

If you can't do that you should be able to see it in your DHCP scope and then connect to the IP

ok. Thanks. do you mean i connect console to my firewall and see the ip then connect to it or just connect firewall to som other port?
Alex

No no, you have a console cable, you need to connect to it and then SSH to the device to configure it. Alternatively check your DHCP scope for the associated IP to the device.

problem is i do not have a console cable.

is it possible to use console cable to usb, or it should be console cable to db9 and convert db9 to pc?
Alex

In which case, you'll need to check your DHCP scope for that network and check for the device in there.

" This product requires the Java language, which is either disabled or not available on this browser.

To use this product you must either upgrade your browser to one that is Java compliant, or enable the Java language on your current browser."

it doing for firefox and chrom and for internet explorer not want to start. What should i do now. HELP :-)
Alex

Have you installed Java? You can get it from https://www.java.com/en/download/

Do this from IE and it should pick the right version.

You can ssh/telnet into the switch and the use CLI commands.

I am not sure that java can still be started using the interface supplied by the swtich.
(Or you need an old version of firefox, that still supports NPAPI).

Or the switch firmware needs to know about webstart.

i install firefox 50.0.2. its the same problem.  i try to add java to firefox
Open the Firefox browser or restart it, if it is already running.
From the Firefox menu, select Tools, then click the Add-ons option.
In the Add-ons Manager window, select Plugins.
Click Java (TM) Platform plugin (Windows)
in plugins i can't find java.
How to install manually?
noci

You will also need an old java for this.
(one that supports NPAPI)  so a 1.3 or 1.4  seems likely.
