Running Hyper-v from USB? I can but should I?

Running Hyper-v from USB?  I've does this many times with VMware and it works great.  I know it can be done with Hyper-V but are there any fallbacks?  Any major performance restrictions?

Thanks experts.  Coming from a VMWARE background I was assuming I could set up hyper-v core on the USB and load all Guests in shared storage (vSan).  Not much benefits if other hosts can’t see the guest VMs.  Hyper v is cheaper but lacking in a few features in  comparison to VMWARE.
After some consideration and taking into account support cost and such I'm going with VMware.  I do appreciate all the feedback.
