How to Configure Some Users Mobile Devices to Connect to Exchange with OWA Disabled.

2016 Exchange server need to configure some users to not have OWA access but their mobile phones need to work. I tested on one device and I get stuck with the password prompt spinning until it eventually times out. Am I missing something? I'm certain I've done this on other exchange servers.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

To disable OWA on a user mailbox you can do the following. This will not affect the user access email via the mobile device but only OWA. I have also provided the link for the instructions.:

Use the EAC to enable or disable Outlook Web App
In the EAC, navigate to Recipients > Mailboxes.

In the list of user mailboxes, click the mailbox that you want to enable or disable Outlook Web App for, and then click Edit Edit icon.

On the mailbox properties page, click Mailbox Features.

Under Email Connectivity, do one of the following:

To disable Outlook Web App, under Outlook Web App: Enabled, click Disable.

A warning appears asking if you're sure you want to disable Outlook Web App. Click Yes.

To enable Outlook Web App, under Outlook Web App: Disabled, click Enable.

Click Save to save your change.

Thank you, thought there was more to it than this. Didn't have allot of time to research and couldn't afford to have any mobile devices go offline.
