unknown host on ping from terminal but the same host is giving response in network tab of chrome
Hi,
I am getting ping: cannot resolve api.gw.zetdpdy.in: Unknown host
while ping from terminal of my mac.
whereas when i open the related website on chrome i see in the network tabs calls to the same host are successful and they return response.
what could be the reason for that ?
Thanks

zetdpdy.in domain is not registered
You're pinging a different host.

api.gw.zetdpdy.in has no DNS record, so will never resolve to an IP address.
gw.zetdpdy.in - also fails to resolve.
zetdpdy.in - also fails to resolve.
Looks like maybe you're typing in an incorrect domain.tld for your api.

Oops. Missed David Johnson's comment.
I presume that either the hostname could be privately used, or has been intentionally mangled...
@Rohit, if you can access zetdpdy.in via HTTP, that just means you likely have an /etc/hosts (or equivalent) alias for zetdpdy.in setup somewhere.
Your fix will be to register the domain... now... else someone will register it instead of you + mark up the price to sell it to you.
After you've registered your domain remove the zetdpdy.in from /etc/hosts (or your OS equivalent) + setup the site, like any other site setup.
