The computer is connected and has access to the Internet, but the Network icon in the taskbar shows the warning sign and says No Internet access.

I've tried:
1)     restart Network Location Awareness.

     2)     Check IPV4 and make sure it has default settings.
     Ipconfig /release
     Ipconfig /renew
right click on the desktop and click refresh

     3)     netsh int ip reset in cmd window and reboot

4)Go to the Properties of your NIC's then go to  Configure of all your NIC's and make sure if you have it, a Power management tab, go under this tab and  turn off all power management stuff  Like Respond to ARP Requs, Respond to NS Requs, Ect. turn  off All Power saving options also turn off all wake on lan I own a Netgear WNDR4500 as a WAP. This fixed the probmel  WIn10 has been doing some fishy stuff when it comes to updates turning porwer and privcy options back on after a update.. Thinks Windowns. Hopefully this fixs your problem. this is for win 10/8.1 os

5)Finally if none of that worked check your anti-virus and make sure you have allowed the following URLS:
     dns.msftncsi.com
     http://www.msftncsi.com/*
if that still doesn't do the trick stop scanning port 80 network traffic at %SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe - path may be off.

All with no luck.  Any other ideas?

Are you trying to connect wirelessly or hard wired with a network cable?   what version of windows are you running? win 7 or 10?   Have you tried to use the built in network troubleshooter? right click on the network connection icon and select troubleshoot problems. Or you can tempoary disable the network adapter then enable it again. To disable/enable your network adapter in  windows 10 right click on your network icon in the taskbar, and select "open network and internet settings"  Then select "Change adapter options". If you have both a wireless and network adapters both icon will show up. You will then select the adapter you are using to connect with and right click on it and select disable. Note you will need to have admin rights to disable the adapter. Once it is disable you can try re-enabling it.
All that means is that Windows could not reach a few microsoft servers within a specific period of time.
Open services.msc and restart Network Location Awareness can sometimes fix it

Try to remove the network card from Device Manager and reboot. It should help.
Sometimes a simple ping to a known location fixes that (granted it's not a permanent fix).

Are you trying to connect wirelessly or hard wired with a network cable?  This is a Wired connection.
what version of windows are you running? win 7 or 10?   Win10
Have you tried to use the built in network troubleshooter? Yes - no dice.

I tried pinging 8.8.8.8 but it had no effect. sent 4 received 4 mimimum 18ms Maximum 20ms Average 18ms

Please view full question.  I've tried a bunch of stuff already.
I see you reset TCP/IP, but not Winsock. You could try doing both, and see if that has an impact.

Which antivirus software are you running? And what happens if you disable it?
tried activate /deactivate the card.  No dice.

tried:
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

tried:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10741/windows-fix-network-connection-issues

but it seems to be stuff that I've already done.

Anti-virus is enterprise and only one or two computers are having this issue.

This one is leaving me scratching my head.

Pretty sure this just means that the computer is having a hard time communicating with Microsoft Servers.  But....  Windows Update completes.  So not sure what else to try.
