Data migration between domains

Hi,

I'm Migrating data from 1 domain controller/file server to another domain controller/file server they are both on totally separate domains

I've disabled DHCP on the new infrastructure, Both network addresses are also different. 192.168.0/24 & 192.168.10.0/24

My question is will there be any issues having both the domain controllers on the same network while I do the migration?  I don't think it should be a problem, just need some clarification

Thanks

As long as they have different NETBIOS names* I don't see an issue?

*Assuming in the same VLAN, if not then this won't be an issue either.

You can have as many Forests or Domains on the same network as you want. The only requirement is to ensure NETBIOS names are different, as mentioned. Each forest/domain will function without talking to the other unless you implement a trust setup. If you're moving from one domain to the second domain, you will want to do this. Also look into Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) to aid the process.
