RSS Feed Coding: What AM I Missing Here?

I have a batch of RSS feeds on the home page of my website www.handicapping.com. The page is, admittedly, not slick or glamorous, but it gets the job done well for horseplayers who want the latest news in one convenient location. One of the sources has apparently changed its feed and I cannot figure out how to implement the change. It may be a matter of my not keeping up with coding technology, since that's not my primary interest or skill.

Here's what I have up there:

<!-- US RACING CODE STARTS HERE -->

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://output51.rssinclude.com/output?type=js&id=1131026&hash=76d2853ebdff22d4f56acf129e0583ba"></script>

<!-- USR RACING CODE ENDS HERE --></td>

and here are the links I was sent by USR that are leaving me clueless:

https://www.usracing.com/feed

https://www.usracing.com/FeedData/feed

(I'm guessing I don't need both, but I don't see how to implement the info at either location.)

Is this something simple or do I need to ask for other information?

Provide more information.

Looks like your site is currently curating many RSS feeds, so it's unclear exactly what you're asking.

Maybe you're saying something has changed with an existing RSS feed you're pulling, which breaks your site in some way.

If this is correct, then you'll simply replace an old feed with a new feed, as feed syntax should remain the same.

Maybe ask your question differently.

Keep in mind you understand exactly what you're asking + other people will require more context to understand.

I'm not sure how much more simple I can make this. But I'll give it a try....

I have been using this coding:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://output51.rssinclude.com/output?type=js&id=1131026&hash=76d2853ebdff22d4f56acf129e0583ba"></script>

Like other RSS feeds on my site, this has been working fine. But it was brought to my attention that some of the information was old and dated. So I requested whatever change needed to be used to get current information (automatically self-updaying like my other feeds).

Here's the coding that was sent to me to replace the old one:

Hi RadioGeorge,

I checked your page and the script. The one that you have shared

http://output51.rssinclude.com/output?type=js&id=1131026&hash=76d2853ebdff22d4f56acf129e0583ba

actually produces old result, no matter what. I did visit USRacing.come from where this data is supposed to come, and I could not find the latest feed. For me this https://www.usracing.com/feed did not work, which is supposed to give you the latest results.

And on top of that, I found that the site that currently you are using https://www.rssinclude.com/
will be shut down on or after April 2020.

In my opinion, you will have to figure out another RSS processor for your site to continue working. If you can tell me how did you get the xml feed that you are showing, I can help you get this up and running. Also, what they sent you is an actual RSS Feed result, and as you have rightly figured it out, it is not what you need.

Regards,
Chinmay.

Thank you indeed for your knowledgeable and insightful comments! As you may infer, for sites like this one which I own (and also radiogeorge.com, which is in need of some RSS feed updating as well, it's easy to let updating those item slip by.

If you offer any services that might be useful, I would be interested in hearing about them.

Hi George,

I think you can avoid using RSSinclude and apply JavaScript based RSS Feed processor on your site to process the RSS Feeds which you are displaying on your site. I do not think it will require much effort and you can do it on your own.

I am not sure about the "services" part, I will drop you a message to clarify.

Regards,
Chinmay.
