iPhone IMAP Shared Mailboxes

I have been accessing my Office 365 Shared Mailboxes on my iPhone using IMAP until recently.  These are the settings I had
Email Address:   sharedmailbox@domain.com
Incoming Mail Server
Host Name:  outlook.office365.com
User Name:  myemail@domain.com/sharedmailbox
Password:   password for myemail@domain.com
Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name:   smtp.office365.com
User Name:  myemail@domain.com
Password:  password for myemail@domain.com

I have verified exchange settings and IMAP is enabled on shared mailbox and user mailbox.

iPhone keeps prompting me for password.  I deleted the account and went to re-add using the same settings but I keep getting invalid password.  I can log into the Outlook web browser just fine and access my shared mailboxes from there.

Any helps to correct this would be great, I really love being able to access those boxes from one mail client, namely my iPhone mail app.

Delete the account again.  Turn on Airplane Mode for 30 seconds and then turn Airplane Mode off to restore connection. This flushes DNS.

Now turn the phone OFF (Power Down).   Wait a minute.  Turn the phone on and make the account again. Does it work?

Shared mailbox is not accessible via mail app as it is not a real one with paid subscription.

You need to add an Exchange Online Plan 1 licence for the said shared mail box in o365 admin portal if you want to access it via mail app.

It is an insecure practice if you want to add an unlicenced shared mailbox via IMAP in mail app of mobile device.

Forget about using setup an IMAP  account for the shared mailbox and add an Exchange Online Plan 1 licence to make it a real one is the better way to go. Wait for a couple of months as what you want is on the roadmap of o365 and do it the official way is always more secure.

Thank you, but it still doesn't explain why it worked and suddenly stopped.
why it worked and suddenly stopped.

Need to know the answers for the question below.

1. Have you assigned an Exchange Online Plan 1 licence to the Shared Mailbox?

2. How large is the Shared Mailbox? If it is over 50GB, you need Exchange Online Plan 2 licence.
Any update?
