Each time I launch Google Chrome it displays tabs of links I previously visited.  How do I turn this off?  Or limit it to 2 or 3 tabs.

You can adjust this via...

Settings -> On startup -> Open the new Tab page

Likely you currently have Continue where you left off currently selected.

Open the new Tab page is selected.  I still see tabs of urls I previously visited.  The number of tabs increase with each launch of Google Chrome.  Kind of annoying.

Try having your own home page (web or local).  I do that and Chrome then always opens with just the home page.
