wifi adapter gone :-(
hp24 all in one pc (24-10066) suddenly has no wifi. no wifi adapter listed in devices or in network settings either. it was fine up until today. i first thought someone enabled an airplane mode of some sort but i dont see where it is even accessed. hp support has been useless. a lot of standard, reboot, download driver system restore type stuff that did nothing... still no wifi adapter listed. anyone run into this before? thanks ;-)
If it does not show up in Device Manager even with a red X then it has completely failed or somehow become disconnected

have you done the system diagnostics from the bios menu?
In some jurisdictions, a physical switch to disable WIFI is mandatory. Thus a lot of laptops and all in ones have a little switch hidden somewhere, regardless of where the device is sold.
Is there Intel PROSet/Wireless Software installed? If so uninstall and it's likely wireless will come back.
in some cases, it is caused by the latest driver, so try rolling back to the previous driver, or do a system restore to a date it was ok - and DISABLE the latest wifi driver from updating!

Thanks for the update.

Can you run this in a command prompt to see if Windows can detect any errors
netcfg -d
It might simply retun a prompt without any apparent activity.
