migrate win 10 laptop to AWS EC2 instance

I want to create an AWS instance for an existing win10 workstation.     I would like to create an image using acronis true image, and then apply it to the EC2 instance.   Is this possible?

Hi tike55, I don't see how you can boot the bootable media on EC2 instance, but it may be possible to do the following:

1. Create EC2 instance for Windows10 with desired parameters (RAM, Storage, etc).
2. Install Acronis True Image.
3. Assuming that your backup is in Cloud it must be accessible via GUI - start the restoration task.
4. The OS shall reboot and the restoration shall proceed.

The problem here is that since there are no drivers for EC2 storage controllers in the backed up system then there is a possibility the restored OS won't boot (since you can't boot the media and apply Universal Restore through it).

So, the approach wasn't tested and is not guaranteed to work as this home product was never intended for such purpose (though I will share the scenario with PMs for further consideration).

Is it possible to create another type of image that I can import?  Maybe a VHDX?  In the past I have migrated hyper-v to AWS via S3 upload and import process.

yes you can do this with acronis.
laptop->OVA/VHD->EC2
https://kb.acronis.com/content/58112

However, Consider that your windows license (probably home or pro) may not allow this type of usage...YMMV.

Aaron suggestion is valid but will require you to obtain either Acronis Backup 12.5 or Acronis Backup Cloud.
However, if you obtain a trial of Acronis Backup 12.5 then I think you can proceed as the method doesn't seem to fall under trial limitations.
AWS will not support Win10 OS. So even you create, it won't boot. If you want to work on Win10 on AWS, please use Amazon Workspaces.(Virtual Desktops)
According to the documentation, the following is listed among supported OS:

Microsoft Windows 10 (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) (US English) (64-bit only)
