Recommended BDR Specs

What are other Managed IT providers recommending for onsite BDR's? Currently using StorageCraft and happy with their software\services. They've proven themselves over the years unlike other backup solutions. My question is I have old BDR's that I'm getting ready to replace with new PowerEdge Servers. What specs do you recommend for an onsite BDR? For sake of this discussion client is running a Server 2016 standard with two VM's, one PDC and another Exchange.

new host with Server 2016 running hyper-v. i prefer vmware but you cannot spin up a HyperV backup onto a vmware system so you are limited in that respect based on the client's hypervisor.

use veeam backup and replication for the solution in a 3rd VM.

spec the BDR to include enough resources to run the HyperV OS, to run both VMs being backed up, and include a third VM for Veeam.

what those specs are depends on your current VM configs. add up all the currently configured CPUs, disks and ram for all the servers to run on the host- to inuclude necessary resources for the Host OS and  Veeam Server VM- then add 20% for overhead.

thats my recommendation
