Setting up native windows backup on 2012r2 server

One of our remote desktop servers fails to initialize on barracuda backups for daily backups so i started creating additional backup jobs for the same drives on the server
to create redundancy on the scheduled jobs but was thinking of setting up a backup using windows backup to create additional redundancy but have never actually used this feature on 2012r2 server so wanted help on steps involved in creating this native windows backup on the D drive so in the event of a server crash, i could restore using the windows backup in the event that the barracduda backups were not reliable, thanks in advance.

The Windows Server Backup is a Windows Feature you need to activate first. There is a video which shows how to use this feature: https://www.experts-exchange.com/videos/428/Bare-Metal-Backup-with-Windows-Server-Backup.html
Frankly speaking I am not a big fun of WSB because it behaves sometimes as if it was developed from some Jupiter aliens. It sees the storage but does not see the backups on it.
So I prefer using third party tool instead of it.
Anyway you can use it as well.

Well when you state it like that i wouldnt have that much confidence with windows native backup and you have had much more experience with it so maybe i will have to think of another workaround to my curent issue.  thanks
