Questions about 3rd party Fax setup
Does anyone have a strong background on Zetafax?
We took this client over a while ago and they never paid their Zetafax support so now we're stuck. Currently our client has 7 lines for in bound and out bound faxes that are handled by a Zeta fax server. They are currently considering moving to another solution and need us to draw out how the process for Zeta fax works. I do have access to the Zeta Fax server but I do not know where the fax cards route the lines.
Basically they are asking us to write out a Visio for them showing them the entire work flow and how that can apply to their new solution they are going with. Really need help with this one.

Hi David that is exactly what I am being asked to do, they currently have 7 fax lines that go "somewhere". My job is to go into the server where Zeta fax resides and try and figure out what to look for. And then try and draw up a Visio of what I find. I have 0 background on it and going to see what I can do. I found a video that kind of explains the process but to determine if that is how its setup is the hard part. Any continued support would be appreciated as this is something very difficult.

So poking around the Zetafax application I found the configuration setting but it doesn't tell me much. Where would I look when a fax number is dialed to determine where that line is going through such as a PTSN maybe? does it then relay to the server and then does the server transmit that data into a PDF and then route it to users email boxes?

I did my best to reach out to the vendor to see if they could answer a couple of questions in regards to the initial setup or see if they had any old documentation/ visios of the setup which could help me out I will see what they come back with. Simply looking at this server doesn't tell me much as far as the routing setup.

Are these actual phone lines/modems or are they using some fax service. (quick examination of the "FAX SERVER" will determine this.
You really need to go into the software and poke around since the customer seems to be clueless
If the software is dead then they have to go through their purchase orders/invoices for anything that refers to FAXing
