Recommendations for Travel SIM

I'm after recommendations for a sim card for Travelling to Europe, specifically Portugal, England, France, Switzerland and Italy.

Just want something that is predominantly for data but has enough phone credit for calling ahead to hotels, restaurants etc.  It also needs to work across all the countries without having to change all the time.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Check with your ISP Provider. Their roaming plan may be economical enough just to Roam. My plan is economical for Roaming, keeps my data plan, keeps my SIM, keeps my phone number and avoids a lot of hassles.

Jackie, thanks that's really helpful

John, thanks but not an option as our roaming charges are exorbitant coming from Oz

If your ISP roaming is too expensive, then use Jackie's solution above or buy prepaid cards as needed.
Having hosted students I can tell you that prepaid phone cards are a low cost per minute. There will be a list of countries you can call and the cost per minute.Good luck on your trip.
