ASP.net VB.net show dates across top of GridView

Hi

In my ASP.net web app I pull data through to a GridView. One of the columns is  Date column.I have now been asked
to show the data with the dates along the top horizontally as opposed to vertically in a column. How would I go about this?
The image shows the dates at the top.

i have something similar to display an annual leave chart.
but it  is probably not very efficient... as it is built by separate queries for header and then for each row.  (as the page was created in 2002)

maybe able to use new SQL2005  CrossTab  https://www.essentialsql.com/create-cross-tab-query-summarize-data-sql-server/

but given the formatting you appear to want , it may be simpler to just build each row and add to grid 'manually'
