How to Set up WiFi for a Porta Cabin which is 120 meters away from the main POE switch.

Hi
We have a big porta Cabin which is 100-120 meters away from the Main building.

Mail building core switch and porta cabin switch is connected through Fiber optics cable for data connectivity.

We have Wi-Fi in the mail building and Cisco POE switch connects all the access points in the main building and we have spare ports on the POE switch.

The approximate distance between the Main building POE switch and the Cabin is 100-120 meters.

Now staff are requesting Wi-Fi access in the porta Cabin and we need only two Wi-Fi access points.

Please suggest if I pull two UTP cable from Main building POE switch till the Porta Cabin access point. Will the Wi-Fi work in Porta cabin?

Please let me know the cheapest solution to set up Wi-Fi Access point in the porta cabin.
Thanks

Not sure how the cisco POE switches are configure to connect the access points in the main building.
But of if use the power injector for the Access point in porta cabin and connect to the HP switch in the Porta cabin .
Will the access point work in this way?

Thanks
Most POE devices need to be on the same electrical circuit. It may or may not work.

That is the cheapest thing to try.

The other (and I think best approach) is to pull an Ethernet cable to the out building and hook up access points there.
Do you have a centrally managed WIFI system with some kind of WIFI controller or are they standalone WIFI APs?

is this question just about power or connectivity back to a WIFI controller too?

Given that you've mentioned the two buildings are already connected by fiber, it would be pointless to run UTP cables between the building and Porta Cabin. Even if the fiber wasn't there, you mention that the distance is at least 100 meters, which is the limit for the length of an ethernet cable before needing to connect to a switch or other device.

In the Porta Cabin, between whatever properly configured switch port is available for the AP and the AP itself, you can have a power injector. That should be all you need.
Huh? Lets see if I have this right:

1. You have 2 buildings, "Main" and "Porta cabin"
2. Each building has a switch set up in it.
3. The two switches are connected by an existing fibre optic cable.
4. A cheap, simple solution is required.

If this is all correct, then the solution is really easy. Just get a Wireless Access point, plug it into the switch in the Porta Cabin, set up WPA2/PSK, and connect some devices.

Something like the device below would work, about $50 and widely available.

Am I missing something here?
