IIS,how to name the website instead of server name or ip address (in local network)?

I'm using IIS version 10.0.17763.10. I have configured the reporting site in http://127.0.0.1:3456
This reporting site is working in a local network. Instead of giving IP address  (127.0.0.1) or Localhost , I would like to use a name for the site like http://crmreport:3456
I have changed in the site bindings but it did not work. Please see the screenshot below.

After that, I have changed the settings in HTTP Redirect, but that also did not work for me. Please see the screenshot below.
Please let me know in local network how to rename site name instead of IP address or server Name.

Hi,

On your local DNS create a subdomain called crmreport and give the ip address of your webserver, then when people hit http://127.0.0.1:3456 they will be redirected towards http://crmreport:3456.

Do u have any domain /dns server placed in network ?
If yes ...then create a forward lookup zone with name crmreport.com and add a host record with host name crmreport and point to iis server ip.
Then check.

All the best
First requirement to get FQDN working is to have interna DNS server.  Active Directory based DNS server or any other third party DNS server.
Once you have above requirement fullfilled in your internal network, then you need to create A record for your cmsreport pointing to IIS webserver IP address.

And also specific ports needs to be opened in firewall.
Don't use port 3456, use 80 for http and 443 for https.

Host header will then redirect prot 80/443 to the correct website once you create a DNS entry for it

any reason for not to use 3456?
any reason for not to use 3456?
Yes, if you use 80 or 443 you do not need to enter the port as part of the URL
Host header is meant exactly for that, so that you do not need to host websites on different ports. You can host multiple on the same port
I configured the site with port 443, but still, it asks the port number? why?
seems you are accessing the portal on the server itself ... thats what it's able to resolve 127.0.0.1:2345

in edit site binding give tour server ip address and assign the port 2345 as shown in your question

and check

all the best
You should access it via host name if you do not want to add port. This host name can be in host file or DNS (host file only for testing)
