some sites (doordash.com) open to a blank page now with no message at all just a blank page.  i am running windows xp on chrome browser Version 49.0.2623.112 m.  if i open the page in firefox the it displays fine.  if i open it on another computer (windows 7 or 10) with chrome it opens fine.  im looking for a setting in chrome that will allow me to still open https sites such as the aformentioned for now.  is this setting or trick out there?  please dont tell me to update windows version as i know that will solve this.  thanks :-)

It's Windows itself that lost the ability to properly set up a correct HTTPS session (several years already actually. Obviously, also depends on the website if it enforces up-to-date security or allows the older non-secure standards). Firefox probably built in some workaround. As Chrome doesn't have it, and WinXP also doesn't have it, Firefox is the only solution.

chrome browser Version 49.0.2623.112 m.

Can you upgrade from XP?  Chrome is now version 75 and the version you are using is insecure as is XP.  There is now no practical way to secure XP.

As noted above, you can try Firefox, but that will still not protect you in any way.

ok
but you must realise that such an old OS will cause more  and more problems, because all softwares are adapting over time to the new hard and software
compare that to the cost of an OS (here about 100 Euro)
may i ask on what pc model you are running?
