asked on

Vmware and Nutanix

My company is starting to look into HCI solutions with some of our vendors. One of the solutions they are looking at is Nutanix. We are a large VMware shop. If we go with Nutranix, can we still running ESXi like we would with VxRails? I know Nutanix is very proprietary on their OS.

We were using vSphere before we started adding any Nutanix nodes here - we still do, and we have quite a few Nutanix nodes now.  You will not have any compatibility problems.

The Nutanix OS does not get in the way of ESXi or vCenter at all

Actually, Nutanix hardware supports using their own hypervisor (Acropolis), as well as VMWare and Hyper-V  -  take your pick   : ).

ASKER

Good to know, I only ask since my company has such a large investment in Vmware as it is. BTW, to you recall how Nutanix compared price wise to VxRails?
