Have you tried the following (although I don't know if this will work in a domain environment, can't test that here):

  • In Windows File Explorer, go to C:\Windows\SystemApps\
  • Find the folder that starts with Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge and open that
  • Find the file in there named MicrosoftEdge.exe
  • You should be able to SHIFT and RIGHT-CLICK on it to get the drop down that includes Run as different user

Bill, thank you. I have not tried that, as yet, but that would make sense. And based upon what you wrote, this could be a solution to another problem had with MS Edge.
If you do that often and with a specific user you can also turn it into a Shortut (right clickNewShortcut) using the RunAs command in the Location field of the new Shortcut (and carry along credentials to make it even easier if you choose) . To do that it would look something like this:
runas /user:"rstanton" /savecred "C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge.exe"

obviously replacing the first item rstanton with the user of your choice and my example path with the fully qualified path and name of the executable file of your choice. :) The /savecred parameter is POWERFUL and has saved me a lot of time in the past. You will have to enter the credentials of the account first of course, but from there they will be saved to the Credential Manager, saving you all of the prompting later. You can leave the /savecred out of the Shortcut if you do not want the credentials stored for security reasons.
